Welcome to the Department of Social Work at Kadambari Memorial College of Science and Management !!!

There has been a tremendous growth in social work practice, thinking and teaching. In Nepal, the history of social work is very nascent. The St. Xavier's College is the first institution that established a department of social work in 1996. The college in 2005 extended its institutional support to further strengthen social work department at Kadambari Memorial College of Sscience and Management, affiliated to Purbanchal University. This institutional collaboration is truly a landmark in the history of social work profession which helped to initiate Master of Social Work for the first time in the country.

We, at the Kadambari College si the first institution that started BSW programme under Purbanchal Unuiversity. A journey to Rome starts with a single foot ! The graduate social workers need to play a crucial work not only in strengthening the social work education in the country, but also bringing the deserving recognition to the profession. We hope we can march ahead in this journey by forging new linkages to promote and strengthen the social work education that promote social justice in this Himalayan country.
