Kadambari Memorial College was established in 2005 in affiliation with Purbanchal University with an aim to strengthen social work education in the country. The collaboration with Department of Social Work at Kadambari and St. Xavier College in 2005 is instrumental to begin Master of Social Work program for the first time in the country at Purbanchal University.
The college is named after the founding principal late Sri. Ranga Rao Kadambari of the first music school Kalanidhi Sangit Mahavidhyalaya established 2020BS.
Kadambari is offering Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program since 2005. The BSW curriculum of Purbanchal University is generic in nature.
The curriculum covers issues on child right, juvenile justice, gender, social work and industry, human right, family and social work, psychiatric social work, youth and elderly. The social work program offered by the college is of six semesters (3 years) with total 90 credit hours leading to a BSW degree. In addition to classroom training, field practicum (400 hours field practicum per semester), block field work, neighborhood camp, rural camp and urban camps are inherent elements of BSW training in Kadambari Memorial College.
The college is the member of Asian and Pacific Association of Social Work Education and is able to extend its strength at global level.
It has produced 3 batches of graduates who are working with government, INGO, NGO and human service institutions. The BSW graduates are working in various sectors such as child, natural resource, street children, rehabilitation centre, disable, youth, women and marginable group.
