Bala Raju Nikku is Founding Director of Nepal School of Social Work and currently Sr. Lecturer at Social Work Section, School of Social Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia. He is the author of Politics, Policy and People and serves on the executive board of the International Association of Schools of Social Work (IASSW) and a former board member of Asian and Pacific Association of Social Work Education (APASWE). Dr.Nikku received his PhD from Wageningen University, the Netherlands in 2006. He currently serves as the member of the editorial advisory boards of International Journal of Disaster Resilience in the Built Environment, and Practice: Social Work in Action. Dil Kumar Thakuri is the Head of Academics of NSSW and is looking after the academic calender of both BSW and BASW programs and also teaches English and co-ordinate student research. He is an M.Phil in Education leadership from Kathmandu University, Master degree in English from Tribhuvan University and ESL from Canada. He has 15 years of experience in teaching and training students from school level to colleges level.He has been providing training in Servant Leadership and Flexible Learning in many places. He holds training in Teachers' training from University of Cambridge, UK and British Council. He has also published English book for primary level school students from Allied Publication, Nepal. He is a member of Nepal English Language Teachers' Association (NELTA) and also an ex-secretary of International Teachers' Association(ITA) , Nepal.He is very active in various social organisations. [email protected] Annabel Igoe is a volunteer social worker from Sydney, Australia and is currently in the role of Social Work Support Officer at NSSW. She has a background in casework and community development and is passionate about cross-cultural social work and working with migrants and refugees. At NSSW her role consists of supporting the field work department including staff and students, reviewing and updating course curriculum including skills lab classes, and assisting all staff in their endeavours to continually improve the School. Outside of work, Annabel teaches yoga and meditation classes and enjoys sharing the gift of self enquiry with others.
Anna Wilson is from Australia and will be based at the college for one year as part of the Australian Government's Volunteer program, AVID. She holds a Bachelor of International Development, a Mater of Arts in Political Ecology and a PhD in Human Geography. She has worked in social research for the last 10 years. She is also a passionate photographer with a keen interest in the visual arts. During her year in Nepal, Anna will assist in further developing the school's research program, as well as with their communication materials and academic publications.
