Kadambari Memorial College was establishedin 2005 in affiliation with Purbanchal University with an aim to strengthen social work education in the country. The collaboration with Department of Social Work at Kadambari and St. Xavier College in 2005 is instrumental to begin Master of Social Work program for the first time in the country at Purbanchal University. Kadambari is offering Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program since 2005. The BSW graduates are working in various sectors. The BSW curriculum of Purbanchal University is generic in nature. It has paper on child right and junvenile justice which makes the curriculum unique to work on child setting. The department is the member of Asian and Pacific Association of Social Work Education and is able to extend its strength at global level.
The social work program offered by the college is of six semesters (3 years) with total 90 credit hours leading to a BSW degree. In addition to classroom training, field practicum (400 hours field practicum per semester), block field work, neighborhood camp, rural camp and urban camps are inherent elements of BSW training in Kadambari Memorial College.
